1. Rc8!! Qxc8 (I don’t see any other move) 2. Ne7+ Not heavily up with material, but enough. The pair of bishops makes the win even faster, I guess. 1 – 0
I tried to be methodic, checking unprotected pieces or weakly protected, and then all of a sudden, I stumbled without any methodic reflexion upon the move 1.Rc8, without any reflexion (4 seconds). I tried to justify it and it worked! (another 5 seconds)
How I discovered 1.Rc8? Even now, I dont’t have the slightest idea about it. Drill perhaps.
i like 1 Nc7. this takes advantage of the fact that the b5 Bishop is hanging and pressures the soft pawn on a5.
not as dramatic as the rook thing but leads to a big advantage on the queenside. with black’s b3 pawn not holdable and black’s pieces on the wrong side (or being chased around or not having access to the dark squares on the q-side), white should be able to push the a and b pawns and probably win the e5 pawn along the way.
after
1 Nc7 Qb8 2 Qxa5
black’s position is a mess and it’s almost a technical win for white.

Rc8 traps the Queen but it is not easy until the pawns in a & b files are handled

3. Nxc8 Rxc8

1. Rc8 wins the Q for a R and N.
