86th FIDE Congress in Abu Dhabi, UAE – Day 3
On the third day of the 86th FIDE Congress in Abu Dhabi, UAE, the following Commissions held their respective meetings:
– Anti-Cheating Commission (ACC)
– Social Projects Commission (SPC)
– Commission for Women’s Chess (WOM)
– Commission of Chess Journalists (CCJ)
– Systems of Pairings and Programs Commission (SPP)
– Ethics Commission (ETH), private meeting
– Chess in Schools Commission (CIS)
– Verification Commission (VER)
The Commission for Women’s Chess reported on its activities and accomplishments since Tromso, August 2014.
WOM also discussed the ongoing and future projects: Rumbo a la Gran Maestria, support to Botswana, Castle Camp sponsorship, Chess for Dialogue at United Nations, Chess for Girls in Vienna, 1st World Online Women Blitz Championship, WOM website redesign.
The Systems of Pairings and Programs Commission discussed the current draft of the new wording for C.04 FIDE Swiss rules to be finalized at the 87th Congress in Baku 2016.
SPP also proposed amendments to the Dutch Swiss Rules, discussed the endorsement process and deadlines, and reviewed the accelerated systems.
SPP also looked at the proposal for a FIDE Pairing Server (FPS) to help organizers comply with deadline requirements.
The Chess in Schools Commission reviewed the Tromso Minutes, Chairman’s report and reports from the Councillors and Members.
CIS presented the Early Years Skills program, the FIDE School Chess Teacher Diploma and Premium Student Membership.
The Verification Commission reviewed the Minutes of the August 2014 meeting, and then proceeded to discuss the Report of VER visit to FIDE Secretariat in Athens in great detail.
Throughout the last three days the Treasurer and the Executive Director have been discussing the 2016 budget with the Commission Chairmen.
