Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Susan, when I first was exposed to mon roi at your simul, it only took me a few moves to get the hang of it. I heard that Gata Kamsky refused to use it so someone else has to input the moves. What has been the general consensus of the GM’s since this has been used in a few tournaments already. How do you like it yourself? I personally love it.
Very few do not like it. Most players including many GMs love it!
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar

In english, how are we encouraged to pronounced “MonRoi”? My natural inclination is “monn ROY”.
Yet on their website MonRoi seems to pronounce it “moan RAW”: that may be okay for french, but not for english.

MonRoi has great potential to benefit the chess world. MonRoi is Not just some pointless fancy gadget that adds nothing to paper scoresheets.
Look around and see the huge benefits from the digitization of information in all fields; heck including this very blog right now.
TD’s will be able to post ALL games as .PGN on their website, each evening after a day of play.
Price has to drop a lot first tho.

Well, Mon Roi *is* a French phrase so pronouncing it in English is subject to a lot of variables…
How about “Myking”? 😉
For tournament use (where it is transmitting moves to a hub which has live Internet connectivity) it is a fabulous piece of work…
Some GMs (and others) may prefer the touch sensitive wooden boards since there is no involvement of the player(s).
For personal use (as a database of my games etc) it seems a little pricey.
