Who would win your votes from 1-10?
i think this year radjabov and carlsen should share it.
It’s not for this year. It’s for the entire year of 2006.
Either Anand or Alexander Morozevich should get it
Kramnik should get it for 2006.
Is Kamsky, who is rated above 2700, still active? What recent “big” tournaments has he played in? Is he going to be in any big tournaments this year?
If anyone knows, please respond.
Thanks.
of course Kramnik he won the most important event of the year. He is number one! My vote goes to Kramnik!
I think Kramnik must get it, wcc 2006 was not only the most important event of 2006 but it was the most important event of last 10 years!
He won it with great success still he lost one free point by meaningless childish accusations, he saved the match, he is a great tactician.
Vote>>Kramnik
Kamsky will play in MTEL Masters, Sofia and then the candidates match in Elista.
If Nigel wins.. I will eat my shoes… promise
Why is bessels birthday not mentioned here? Even Judit played there.
KRAMNIK of course should win it!!!!
(and top 10= pick whoever from that list! They are all GREAT players!!)
Eh. Pretty much the World Champion gets it any year he wins a title match. The only exception is Korchnoi in 1978. Considering he won every other event he played last year, it’ll almost certainly be Kramnik.
Topalov deserves the Chess Oscar most of all.
Last year Kamsky was in Mtel Masters and was winning. But Topalov cheated and won his last 4 games to take first place by half point. Since Kamsky did not get first he has not been getting more invitations.
Topalov stole San Luis and the title from Anand. Now if Kramnik wins Mexico the winner of San Luis will get a title match. Another stolen opportunity. Stolen by Topalov from Anand.
Topalov stole Mtel Masters from Kamsky and has hurt Kamsky.
Cheating has to stop. Topalov and Danailov must be stopped. They are ruining the careers of honest players.
Not allowed to cheat in Morelia Linares Topalov tournament performace rating was 2691 approximately. His performance at Essent 2006 was even more dismal. 2645.

Obviously, when he can not cheat his performace is way below 2800. getting 2645 and 2691. He does not deserve another WC Match with Kramnik. He should be banned from chess for 3 years for his breaking of FIDE Ethics rules.
The world wants to see a WC match with Kramnik and Anand. Topalov is a phoney.
One other time he was not allowed to cheat. Morelia 2005 first half of Linares. Of course once he got to Linares he was fully allowed to cheat. But lets look at the Morelia half
http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=2949
Tournament Performance Rating 2620.
I guess he is improving from
2620 to 2645 to 2691. Wow pretty good for Topalov.
San Luis – Svidler winning… and Topalov stole it… ahahahahahahha
Linares – Aronian winning… and Topalov almose stole it.. ahahhahahahaha
MTEL – Kamsky winning… and Topalov stole it.. ahahahahahahha
WC – Kramnik winning.. and Topalov stole 1 pts.. ahahahahahahahha
Corus – Radjabov winning.. and Topalov stole to tie for 1st… ahahahahhahaha
Topalov is God!!!
Topalov deserve Oscar!!!
Great acting Toppy!!!
“Topalov deserves the Chess Oscar most of all.”
Considering that in Hollywood the Oscar is an award for acting, maybe he does.
I believe that Topalov deserves to win it again in 2006 (he won in 2005). Although he lost to Kramnik, it wasn’t by much. I like the fact that Kramnik is playing more, and he did win the WC Match (that has got to count for something). But all and all, Topalov played a lot of great games in 2006 and I feel that it should go to him.
It will be a tie between Kramnik and Topalov
Kramnik cheated , so he must be left out of this race
Kramnik and Topalow both should get a price – something equivalent to the “Goldene Himbeere” (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldene_Himbeere) a “negative oscar”.
But in addition to that they should get a special price for making a really good word joke: “WC match” – I like that name.
Who should win the real “oscars”? Probably one of them, too.
I don’t know.
Greetings,
Jochen
