Federation of University Sports of China and Asian University Sports Federation are announcing the 1st Asian University Chess Championship, which will be held from 18-25th October in Capital University of Physical Education and Sports in Beijing, China.
Events:
– Men’s Individual Event
– Women’s Individual Event
– Team Event
Only competitors who meet the following conditions may take part in the event:
a) Be a national of the country or region they represent
b) The player should be born from January 1st 1987 to December 31st 1997
c) Students who are currently officially registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at a university or similar institute whose status is recognized by the appropriate national academic authority of their country.
d) Former students of the institutions mentioned in c) who have obtained their academic degree or diploma in the year preceding the event.
Composition of Team:
– Each country or region can send up to three teams including two university teams and one national team. For university team, all the players must come from the same university.
– The team is made up of 4 players: 3 male players and 1 female player, or 1 male player and 3 female players, or 2 male players and 2 female players and 3 officials at maximum.
– Each team can send 4 players at maximum (without gender limits) to participate in individual championship.
The latest FIDE tournament rules will be adopted. Male players and female players will play in their own category respectively.
The championship will have 9 rounds using round robin system or Swiss system according to the number of participating players. Time control: 60 minutes to the end of the game, 30 seconds increment per move.
