Easy! 1 second. 1.Rxh6+
Looks like Nf6 is the wins in 3.
Nf6
Nf6
Nf6! More than 15 sec though.
nope… Nf6 should win in 3 moves
Rh6can win but not in 3 moves
Nf6! Took me more than 15 sec though..
Nf6!
I don’t think the rook move is going to lead to mate. It took me more than 15 seconds, but I think it is the Nf6 move that leads to a forced mate.
nf6 is mate in 3 I think, rf6 not so fast..
b
I suggest 1. Nf6 Rxf6
2. Rxh6+ Bxh6 3. Qg8#
Nope. Spent the 15 seconds on Rxh6+, and by the time I got around to Nf6 the time was gone.
1. Nf6! mates in three.
1. Rxh6? does not.
1.Nf6 (Going for 2.Qh7#)
1…Rxf6 2.Rxh6+ Bxh6 3.Qg8#;
1…Bxf6 2.Rxh6+ or 2.Qxh6+ and mate next.
Rh6 is not mate in 3.
1 nf6
if 1… rf6 then 2 rh6 bh6 qg8 ++
if 1.. Bf6 (the only other move stopping qh7 ++) then
2) Rh6 qh7 3 rh7 ++
I think I got it in under 15, but not under 10.
txh6, Axt, DxT, R8c…………
okay, i’ll admit it took two look sees at about 30 seconds each, so i guess i flagged. but:
1 Nf6
if
1 … Rxf6
2 Rxh6+ Bxh6
3 Qg8#
if
1 … Bxf6
2 Rxh6 and the black queen can block but it makes no difference
if black goes for the positional:
1 … Qf7
2 Rxh6+ Bxh6
3 Qxh6+ Qh7
4 Qxh7#
if black tries … Be8, white mates with Qh7
apologies for inaccuracies, but what do you want for 2 x 30 seconds?
Perhaps you should have spent the rest of the 14 seconds you had left? 1. Rxh6 Bxh6 2. Qxh6 (what else?) Qg8, and there is no mate in onw.
1. Nf6+ threatening Qh7#
If 1. … Bxf6 2. Rxh6+ Qh7 3. Qxh7#
If 1. … Rxf6 2. Rxh6+ Bxh6 3 Qg8#
e
R*h6(check)-B*h6-Q*h6(check)-Kg8-Nf6(checkmate)
