The 12th Khazar International Open Chess Tournament is set to take place on 11-18th February at the Yadegar Imam Sport Complex in Rasht, Iran.
The tournament will be played in four sections:
– Open A for players rated above 2100
– Open B for players rated under 2100
– Open C for women
– Open D for youth under 14
Top prize in Open A is around 1200 USD.
The tournament is organized by the Guilan Chess Association and Kiumars Bayat. The Chief Arbiter is IA Hamidreza Pourshahmari.
Last year winner was IM Shota Azaladze from Georgia.
