THE SUSAN POLGAR FOUNDATION’S 10th ANNUAL NATIONAL OPEN FOR BOYS AND GIRLS IS COMING TO CALIFORNIA!
The prestigious annual Susan Polgar National Open was created in 2006 and is sponsored by the SPF to give more opportunities to young chess players in the United States. The SPF National Open is open to all students K-12.
Since 2003, the Susan Polgar Foundation, with the support from our friends and supporters, have awarded more than $3.5 million in scholarships and prizes to young talented chess players.
Side events include a Blitz and a Puzzle Solving Championship. Over $100,000 are awarded in prizes, which include trophies, computers, chess prizes and scholarships to Webster University.
In 2015, SPF is teaming up with the Torres Chess and Music Academy to bring this renowned event to the West Coast for the first time!
