The 42nd International Chess Tournament La Roda (Albacete) took place from 1-5th April, 2015, at La Caja Blanca in La Roda, Albacete, Spain.
The event was a 9-round Swiss tournament with tempo of play 90′ + 30″.
GM Julio Granda Zuniga (Peru) and GM Angel Arribas Lopez (Spain) split the first place on 7,5/9 points each but Granda took the gold on a superior tie-break score.
The third place was shared in a ten-way tie by GM Alexander Kovchan (Ukraine), IM Daniel Forcen Esteban(Spain), GM Fernando Peralta (Argentine), GM Aleksa Strikovic (Serbia), Ismael Alshameary Puente (Spain), GM Manuel Perez Candelario (Spain), GM Ilmars Starostits (Latvia), FM Julio Suarez Gomez (Spain), GM Dragan Paunovic (Serbia) and IM Javier Moreno Ruiz(Spain), after the whole group finished the event with 7 points.
