The Qualifiers to determine Uganda’s representatives in the Zone 4.2 Africa Chess Championships are set to commence over two consecutive weekends of Saturday 14-Sunday 15 February and Saturday 21-Sunday 22 February 2015 at Pope Paul Memorial Hotel in Rubaga, Kampala.

As the hosts for the zonal championships scheduled to be held from 17 to 26 April 2015 in Kampala, Uganda Ches Federation are eligible to field five players in each section (5 male in the Open and 5 ladies in the ladies’ category).

The UCF executive has exempted the first IM in the country Elijah Emojong and the first WFM in the country Ivy Amoko from participating in the qualifiers in honour of their pioneer title achievements. That means there will be 4 slots up for grabs as the male and female players tussle it out.

A total of 8 rounds will be played and registration for participation in the zonal qualifiers ends on Friday 13th February 2015.
