Moscow Open – Alexander Pochinok Memorial

This year the Moscow Open – RSSU Student Grandmasters’ Cup was dedicated to the memory of Alexander Pochinok for the first time. He was the Head of the Ministry of Labour of Russia and one of the creators of the Department of Chess in the RSSU.

Irine Kharisma Sukandar from Indonesia stormed through the A. Pochinok Memorial Women’ Student Grandmaster Tournament. She scored six wins and tree draws to complete the event with 7,5/9 points, two points ahead of the nearest follower Alina Kashlinskaya.

In the A. Pochinok Memorial Men’ Student Grandmaster Tournament GM Samvel Ter-Sahakyan from Armenia took the trophy with 6,0/9 points, leaving the top seed Daniil Dubov half a point behind.
