The 13th Khazar International Open Chess Tournament was organized by the Chess Association of “Gilan” province on behalf of I.R. Iran Chess Federation from 11th to 18th February, 2015, in Rasht, the largest city on Iran’s Caspian Sea coast.

The tournament was held at Yadegar Imam Sport Complex located in Golsar St, Rasht.

88 players from 12 different countries participated, including 9 GMs, 1 WGM, 8 IMs, 2 WIMs, 8 FMs and 1 WFM.

Polish IM Jacek Stopa emerged a clear winner with 7,5/9 points and grabbed the first prize of 1,500 USD.

Iranian FM Seyed Khalil Mousavi and Azerbaijani GM Azer Mirzoev tied for the second place on 7 points each, but Mousavi prevailed on a superior tie-break score and took the silver.
