The unsung hero of Webster University #1 ranked & National Championship Chess Team is GM Ray Robson!

In the past 2 years, he scored 13 consecutive wins (6 games at PanAm 2013, 2 games at 2014 Final Four, and the first 5 games of PanAm 2014) in Division I College Chess (which is a record) before finally yielding a draw with black against GM Leonid Kritz (2639)! He won the top individual performance award in 2 straight years and he also helped Webster win 2 straight Final Four titles.

Ray’s new FIDE rating is 2656.4 (#95 in the world) and his USCF rating is 2750. This makes him the highest rated American born player (playing under US flag since Caruana plays for Italy)!

Ray is also an ultimate team player. Because he is so quiet and humble, he does not get enough recognition for his talent and accomplishment. His teammates absolutely love him and respect him. He goes out of his way to help everyone. Ray, thank you for all your contributions!
