I recently received a number of emails from Vasil Munteanu (of Romania) regarding the upcoming FIDE election. There are numerous articles about various issues posted on the site www.FIDENot4Sale.blogspot.com.
As in past practice, I try not to get involved in chess politics. I also do not pick sides. I only care about helping chess grow the right way, especially chess in education and women’s chess. I have turned down many times in the past to join any ticket. I always try to be fair to both sides by letting their voices be heard.
Garry Kasparov has plenty of information and rebuttal on his own site www.Kasparov2014.com. It is up to you to make your own decision as to who is the best candidate, and what their track records / qualifications are.
Kasparov is very honest. He would never lie or bribe anyone. He just wanted to help Asian chess by donating a few million dollars.
As they say, always ‘follow the money’ trail. Who is funding Gary?
You must have faith in Chess King Kasparov.
What do you mean up to me to make decision? I don’t decide anything about elections.
It’s good that you’re not getting involved in FIDE politics, Susan. You’re already doing great things where you are. But if you know or believe that one or both candidates are corrupt, I think you should sound it off. As the saying goes, for evil to triumph, good men only need to be silent.
Kasparov very honestly buying votes in Asia… Maybe it’s time to read his agreement with Leong and come to cleverer conclusions?
Do believe what you read or do you believe Kasparov? I believe everything Kasparov says. He’s the savior of chess.
I strongly believe, that one of the qualifications for the presidency of FIDE, should be the title of GM, need I say any more?
There is a saying ” A man who takes back a move in chess, can just as easily pick a pocket”.So there!
Peter you don’t need to say more…If you believe that GM title helps to run such organization like fide and find sponsors, than it shows you have very limited understanding.
