The New Caledonia International Chess Open took place on 19-24th August, 2013, at the Le Meridien Nouméa on New Caledonia.

The event was organized by the Nouméa Chess Club and the Casino of Nouméa and incorporated the New Caledonia Championship.

40 players competed in the 9-round Swiss tournament which is valid for the Oceania Grand Prix.

Russian Grandmaster Vasily Papin is the convincing winner after concluding the race with 8,0/9 points. French Grandmaster Sebastien Maze is second with 7,0 points.

3-4. FM Luis Sanchez Botella ESP 2243 and Mickael Pouchon FRA 1940 – 6,5
