The 70th Polish Chess Championship 2013 and the 65th Polish Chess Championship for women 2013 are taking place on 13th-21st April at Sztygarka, Poland.

Starting from 2010 – when the Board of the Polish Chess Federation decided to change the tournament system – the open event is played with Swiss system, while the women’s tournament is a round-robin. Both event are held on nine rounds.

There is an impressive prize fund – PLN 104,500 (approx. 33,ooo US dollars) – in financial awards for both tournaments.
