Baku Open claims for title of best contest of 2012

The association of chess professionals defines the best contests of 2012
 
According to Sport 1news.az, the international chess festival Baku Open-2012 claims for the title of the Best Open tournament. The contests in Moscow (Russia, Aeroflot Open and Moscow Open), Biel (Switzerland), Parduitz (Czech Republic, Czech Open), Reykjavik (Iceland, Reykjavik Open) .. also claim for victory.

The voting is held from 25 February until 25 March, the right for voting is given to members of the Association of Chess Professionals. The winner will be declared on 31 March, sources in the Association of Chess Professionals.

Baku Open was held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku from 21 September until 1 October (game days from 22 September until 30 September). Sergey Zhigalko (Belarus) became the winner of contest A of Baku Open in 2012, Anar Aliakbarov (Azerbaijan) was leading in tournament B and Kanan Garayev (Azerbaijan) in tournament C.
