The 2013 Guam International Open Chess Tournament is scheduled to take place on 15-21st February, 2013, at the Bayview Hotel, Tumon, Guam.

The 9 round open Swiss event will be rated with FIDE. The prize fund is set at US$5,000 but it may be increased if there are more than 24 paid entries. The entry fee is $US200, free entry for IM and GM.

Prizes: 1st US$1,000; 2nd US$750; 3rd US$600; 4th US$550; 5th US$450; 6th US$400; 7th US$350; 8th US$300; Best Local US$300; Best Women US$300

Opening Ceremony will take place in the Kahida Ballroom of the Guam Plaza Hotel at 6pm on Friday 15 February 2013.

Currently top rated players are IM Jacek Stopa (Poland), FM Christopher Briscoe (England) and FM Brian Jones (Australia).

Invitation letters will be sent on request for those players requiring US visas to enter Guam.

Guam has a visa waiver program with Russia. If you visit Guam for pleasure, all you need as a Russian citizen is a machine readable passport.
