José, in your first variation, after Nf6+ black can go to g6 because both the queen and rook are already off the board. White should start his combination with 1.Nf6+ and then it does work.

My 1st variation is
A)

1.Nf6+ and black has 2 choices:
1) if 1…Kf7 then 2.Rxg7+ when 2…Kxg7
then Qh7 followed by Q58#.
if 2…Kf8 then 3.Rg8+ followed by Qh7#.
2)1…Kf8, then 3.Qh7. now if black played 3…gxf6 then 4.Qg8#
