Here are some interesting tidbits about the 2009 World Championship:

Magnus defeated the 2nd (Anand), 3rd (Karjakin), 4th (Kramnik), and 5th place (Grischuk) finishers by a total score of 8-0! His performance rating was near 2900 and he did not lose any single match against any player. He also defeated 20 of 21 opponents at least once (except the 2008 World Blitz Champion Leinier Dominguez – both games were drawn).

There are 4 World Champions / FIDE World Champions in this event. Judit scored 1-1 against Anand, 1-1 against Karpov, 1-1 against Ponomariov, and 1.5-0.5 against Kramnik.

The average rating of the 22 players are 2718. 26.40% of the games were drawn. Approximately 38.96% were won by White and 34.63% were won by Black.
