Bb5
Bb5 looks interesting to me. It prevents the defensive move of Qa4.
1. Bb5 Qe4 (only square for queen)
2. Na6 Kc8
3. Nc4 threatening mate and the queen at the same time winning.
I think my last move was written Nc4, I meant Nc5, of course
Bb5
… axb5
Qa8#
… Qxb5
axb5 1-0
… Qxe4
Bxd7 and white runs wild in the back ranks
Mark
Looks like 1. Bn5 it´s an easy win.
FM Gabriel Curi (Uruguay)
Bb5 wins the queen or mates at Qa8
Bb5
1. Bb5 Qxe4 (forced, or mate/material loss)
then
2. Nh6+ wins
yeah Knight moves 1st :)and i think knight plays an important role this time”)
I am not sure if these lines are the best as the first one does not give a quick mate but far enough material adavantage. But I think they should win. 😉
1. Bxa6?/Nxa6? seem to go nowhere by now.
1. Bb5! (axb5? 2. Qa8#) forces Qxe4 and deflects the queen from c7. 2. Nxa6+! (Ka8/Kc8 3. Nc5+) forced bxa6 3. Bc7+! and now best may be
Kc8 4. Ba6+, Qb7 5. Qb6!, Bc6 6. Bxb7+, Bxb7 7. Bxd6 +-
If 3. -, Kb7 white mates with 4. Bxa6+, Kc6/Ka8/Ka7 5. Qb6/Bc8/Bc8#
If 3. -, Ka8/Ka7 4. Qxa6#
Did I oversee anything?
Best wishes from Germany
Jochen
Bb5 Qxe4
Nxa6 Kc8
Nc5
I would play
1. Bb5 .. Qxe4 (almost forced)
2. Rhe1 .. Qf4/f5
3. Nxa6+ .. Kc8 (otherwhise mate in two)
4. Nc5 and if .. dxc5 Rxe5 with the threat of Bxd7+
Mhm, no i think the second move in the line i’ve given should be exchanged with the fourth, because of black’s possible reply .. Bxb5. Anyway is not simple for me, there are lines which could be tricky, especially at the board…
1. Bb5 Qe4 (ab5: Qa7+)
2. Na6+ ba6: (Kc7 Nc5 –>Qa8)
3. Bc7 and blacks king is dead
Bb5 Qxe4
Nxa6 bxa6
Bc7+ Kc8
Ba6+ Qb7
Bxb7+
this leads to mate.. i was thinking this line is interesting because i couldnt play Qxa6 because it could be refuted with something like Qb7.. so instead i played 3.Bc7+..
I agree to white’s proposed first move, but not to black’s. I think 1. Bb5 Nc4 counterattacking the white queen is a better proposition for black. Then 2. Bxc6 Nxa5 3. Bxd7 puts white a full minor piece up. That seems to be the best white can do given best defence from black.
