I predict a Kamsky win. I’m not a great player, but if I were Kamsky, I’d play defensively…play for equality, hope Shirov might make a mistake, and then capitalize on it. In other words, play for a draw and in the next game…with the White pieces…go in for the kill.
But, I’m sure Kamsky has studied Shirov and is prepared…so today…I predict a draw. Who knows, one or the other might completely dominate the entire game from the beginning.
This is what makes chess exciting.
They’ve both fought hard…but I hope Kamsky wins. He’s done better than most thought he would. Congrats to him.
The first game was today. it was a draw. Here is the opening comment by ChessDon web site.
Good day everyone, welcome to the Chessdom live coverage of the World Cup final. Since his comeback, Gata Kamsky was mostly relying on the Marshall attack, but Alexei Shirov presented good preparation when he blasted Jakovenko and Karjakin in this line. However, Kamsky started using other Ruy Lopez lines as well, and he also hired a second for the first time – GM Emil Sutovsky. One thing is certain, Shirov will attack with white pieces, while Kamsky has nerves of steel in defence. Enjoy!

I predict white will make the first move 😉
I predict that either this game or the third will be drawn, but not both.
I predict a scandal involving an ex-member of the USCF and two love-crazed pygmies from Bali.
Shirov will play 1.e4 Kamsky might reply with e5, since his Sicilian was crushed by Shirov last time.
I will have to give Shirov the edge due to past head-to-head results, but I’m rooting for Kamsky!
I say that a conspiracy will happen as a UFO will land and want to play…So Kamsky will win the tournament.

I just contradicted myself! I said: “I predict a kamsky win,” and then “I predict the game will be a draw!”
Geez, haven’t had my coffee, yet.
Really, I predict a draw today which will be in Kamsky’s favor as I think he’d win with the White pieces.
We’ll see…

What’s up with that Hitler mustache in the illustration? Not flattering.
