1.QXf7!! Rxf7

I saw it pretty fast, from studying lots of similar patterns. Nf6 is not the move.

One of those positions where you kick yourself for not seeing it quicker! Should have homed in to the f7 pawn straightaway!

This time I won’t fail, like with the checkmate in three from yesterday 🙂
1.Qxf7+ (getting rid of the annoying pawn that defends g6)
1…Rxf7 2.Ng6+ (cutting the escape route for the king via e7)
2…Kg8 3.Rh8#
The straightforward
1. Qxf7+ Rxf7
2. Ng6+ Kg8
3. Rh8#
does the trick.

Easy Queen sac, not world class.
Qxf7!
Its an easy mate in 3. But I wonder why this was dug up? He is world champ now and this shows him losing to an IM, long ago. Am sure the Polgar sisters have played much worse 😀
Nice, I love a good Queen sac!
1. Qf7+! Rxf7 2. Ng6+ Kg8 3. Rh8#

I’m not strong, but would have seen this in blitz!
Try a Q sacrifice. g6 is then free for the Knight.
