President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov just gave an interview on stating that Kramnik will play in Mexico City in September 2007.

This morning, Pierre Barthélémy, a respected chess writer for the newspaper Le Monde in Paris told me that according to Kramnik’s manager Carsten Hensel, “there will be several conversations with FIDE during the next weeks to come”.

Great! Are you following me so far?

Now, the rumor is flying that Topalov’s Manager Silvio Danailov has found somewhere between $1.5 – $2.o million for a rematch in April 2007.

OK, so we are some months after the recent World Championship scandal and the same 3 parties: FIDE – Kramnik – Topalov still cannot agree.

I for one would love to see a match between these two in a neutral country with neutral arbiters and no open letters / press releases during the match.

Stay tune for the new chapter of the “As the scandal turns”!
