I probably missed something, but does Topalov play the White pieces again? Twice in a row?!

Yes, a reversal of colors was part of the plan from the beginning.
I think this is a huge advantage for Kramnik — he not only got to start with White, but he also gets to end with it.
Advantage? Topalov gets a free win without even having to play with black and then gets to play white twice in a row.
I mean that the original arrangement offered a significant advantage to whomever won the drawing of colors, which was Kramnik.
Obviously the free win was to Topalov’s benefit — everyone realizes that. But even considering that, Kramnik still has the advantage of going into the 12th game with White.
Unified World Championship is practically one-sided now anyway. If Kramnik wins he will indeed be the world champion as he even “gave” a full point away to Topalov.
On the other hand, if Topalov does win he will have to win decisively – it can’t even be close – because Kramnik (and others) can point to the full point, as well as the controversy created and the ill effects he may have cause Kramnik, and justifiably claim that nothing has been proven this time around. It will be almost impossible for Topalov to unify this title and claim to be world champion! Alas, I was one of the ones who before the match was hoping that he would do so…
I only hope now that Kramnik will win so as to unify the title and then, most importantly, be well enough and gutsy enough to prove that he is the deserved world champion by winning some tournaments, showing he can win and not just “not lose” as his reputation seems to be now, and defend his unified title within a reasonable period of time to the most qualified opponent, even if that opponent may again be Topalov.

What a great schedule is it!
Topalov will have white three times in a row!!
Unbelievable!
The great circus show is in progress!;o)))
That’s a nice chess-set. Is that for sale anywhere? If it is, it’ll probably be above budget, but I really like it!
You’d think they would have had enough rest by now.
Unfortunately, the rest day tomorrow is necessary to get the match back on its original pattern — where Topalov has rest days before his White games.
In the first half of the match, it was Kramnik who had rest days before the White games.
Topalov will have white three times in a row!!
The reversal of colors was planned in advance and agreed by the players.
@ Marc Shepherd: Ok! I apologise for my remark then! I’m easily tempered ;oX
Hurray for the players!
Hurray for the match!!
Hurray for the kalmikia!
But, for fide, danailov, and the rest( fide officers) my position still remain the same:Shame on them!
I don’t quite understand.
Why has there to be another rest day on Oct 3? Original plan was to have a game at that day.
I hope not that it was a short-term change from FIDE again to give Topalov more time for finding improved play with the white pieces. After the easy draw today it would be clearly favouring Kramnik to continue tomorrow.
Got a strange feeling again with FIDE decisions…
Yeah, I was also one of those who was rooting for Topalov – due to his enterprising style of play as opposed to “Drawnik” 😉 … but after all these events, I won’t be sad if Kramnik wins – I won’t be happy either, as his drawing style will never attract my preference.
I am sure that, if Topalov loses, he or his unpopular manager will go and say “it is hard to win against a drawing machine”.
If you think about it, so far Kramnik didn’t play for a win in any of the games and he happens to be winning thanks to Topalov’s incredible mistakes. They say “no risk, no win”… Kramnik should add “and no lose either” 🙂
Lesson for future matches with Kramnik – don’t ever let him get ahead in the score, or you will never catch him up 😉

I hate to say it, but the position of the pieces in the photo is very, very wrong.
Where do you find the great pictures you use? Really nice.
You mean the black pawns on the back rank?
Sure, but that doesn’t make the pieces less beautiful, does it?
Thanks for posting the games schedule!
You see. I’m spanish who said Topalov win’s Black. Now don´t forget it I say. It’s time to win. To Bulgarian people, to Spanish peoplo and for chess. Go Topi, go!!
