FIDE president Kirsan Ilumzhinov will visit IV World Blitz Chess championship
President of International Chess Federation – FIDE, head of Kalmikia republic Kirsan Ilumzhinov will be the honorable guest of IV World Blitz Chess championship, which will take part in November 7-8 in Almaty.
It just ain’t much of a blitz championship with Naka.

I agree, Nakumara should have been there.
What time do the games start? Thanks.
Hikaru Nakamura should most certainly be there. I’m sure he will be in high profile blitz events in the future. He has to be a top 5 blitz player in the world without a doubt.
Susan,
You may want to do something about this:
On the official website of the World Blitz Championship, in the section of Participants, if you click on Judit’s bio, at the end of the first paragraph there is a funny mistake by the writer:”She is among 8 greatest pretenders to world chess crown!”
I am pretty sure they meant “contenders”, but the way it stands, kind of ambigous at least, insulting at most.

I hate complicated websites…like this World Blitz site…I couldn’t find what time the games start!

Neither could I. Anywhere. At all.
Please, somebody who knows what time it starts, please post it here.
The 3 Essentials of a Good Chess Tournament Website:
1.Tournament Schedule (Including Game Times)
2.Game Viewer
3.Webcam
The site says it’s 8:00 GMT. I guess thats 2:00 am east coast USA.
