After 1.Ne4 with the threat on d6 and the Queen/Rook battery with Knight and poor King/Queen/Rook placement for defence I would have to say White is crushing Black.
No. 1.Ne4 loses the Knight.
1.Qf8+ Kd7
2.Qf7+ Kd8
3.Qxe6 wins Bishop
no, too many pawns. not working.
1. Na4, qb3
2. qxe5 then bishop is also lost
mayanking
what about Kc8 rather than Kd8?
RxB, QxN
Qf8 doesn’t work.
Qf8, Kc7 then goes to b8
1. Na4 Qb4
2. Qf8+
if 2…….Kc7
3.Qe7+ Kb8
4.Qxd6+ Qxd6
5.Rxd6 e4
6.fe f3
and pawn seems unstoppable so better is
4.Rxd6 Qe1+
5. Kb2 Qe2+
6. Ka3 Qb5
if 6…..Qxf3 loses to 7.Nc5 with unstoppable mate threat.
Back to 2. …. Kd7
3.Qf7+ Kd8
4.Qxe6 e4
5.Rxd6+ Kc7
6.Qe5 ends all arguments.
Please note all analysis by human with no computer help!
1. Na4 Qb4
2. Qf8+
if 2…….Kc7
3.Qe7+ Bxe7
This was a hard one..
I’ve found a fantastic line with NINE successive knight moves by White to win this. I don’t know whether the variation is completely correct in detail, but it is really showing, how the “horsies move” :))
1.Na4! Qb4
2.Nb2! b5
3.Nd3! Qd4
4.Nf2!! Qb4
5.Nxh3! Rb8
6.Ng5! Kc8
7.Nf7!! Bc7
8.Nd8! Bd6
9.Nxc6+-
Hi,
1. Qf7
Blacks King is trapped, blacks bishop cannot move (rook pin), possible action by blacks rook
.. Rc7
2. Qf8+ forced: Kd7
and mating threat with rook on d6
Now try to deflect the queen …
Jakob
Vohaul,
7. ..Bc7 seems to be a bad move
from black, he survives longer
with another move like 7. ..Bf8;
then it is not so clear.
Hi Anon,
1. Qf7 b5
and black’s King is not trapped.
vohau,
nice fritz calculation 🙂
1. Na4 Qb4
2. Qxe5 Kc7
3. Qxe6 Rd8
4. Qxf5
doesn’t look hopeless
another suggestion: 1.Ne2
now black doesn’t have e4 because of Nf4. the plan is Ng1-h3-g5-e6, because the king is trapped (note that b5 hasn’t been played yet)
gotta think about this a bit later 😎
Black has very very dangerous central pawns and if white doesn’t react immediately the pawn advance will be deadly. Stoping them seems impossible.
Black has weaknesses: Bd6 is pinned (can’t move, e5 could be taken in some lines…) and only protected by the queen…the idea comes to mind…DEFLECT the queen, make her life hard AND attack the pinned piece.
1.Na4 (my plan is very simple: gain a tempo on the queen and then Nb2-Nc4 attacking the pinned bishop a second time)
…Qb4 (…Qa3 not better; Qd5?! giving the queen for the rook and hoping the pawns will give enough compensation…worth some consideration)
2.Nb2 b5 (Nc4 must be stopped)
3.Nd3! (attacking the queen AND e5) Qd4 (the only way to protect e5 but now queen is x-rayed)
4.Nb2 (discover attack) Qb4 (…Qc5 is the same)
5.Nd3 Qd4 (just repeating the position for a draw)
BUT BETTER: 5.Nf2 — 6.Nh3– 7.Ng5 and maybe Nxe6 or Nf7 supporting the attack on the king!
Have a nice day everyone
Jean-Luc
To Vohaul:
7…Bf8 is stronger and now 8.Nd8? looses
i lind was right.
