I was shocked when I read some of the comments from fans on various Internet servers during the games broadcast of the FIDE World Championship.

No one can argue that M. Adams and my sister Judit are both having one of the worst tournaments of their careers. However, many said that Adams is just having a horrible tournament while Judit has no business being in this tournament and she is just simply not good enough.

I don’t know why she is not performing up to her standards but let’s look at two examples of her latest results from the world-class event Corus (2003 and 2005 – She did not play in 2004 because she took time off to have a family):

Final Standings: 2005 grandmaster group A

1. P. Leko 8½
2. V. Anand 8
3. V. Topalov 7½

11. P. Svidler 6
12. N. Short 5½
13. A. Morozevich 4½
14. I. Sokolov 3½

Final Standings: 2003 grandmaster group A
