The 2nd Noel Skelton Open took place from 31st August to 1st September at the Crown Plaza Minneapolis West, 3131 Campus Drive, Plymouth, Minnesota.

The tournament had four sections – Premier (open to all), Reserve (U1800), Bantam (U1200) and Sunday Side event. The playing format for the elo sections was five round Swiss.

GM Wesley So of Philippines, currently student at the Webster University, walked through the Premier section to take the top prize of 1000 USD with a perfect 5,0/5 score.

The Premier section had 42 participants. On the shared second place with 4,0/5 each are Minnesota’s top player IM John Bartholomew, Okechukwu Anele Nnej Iwu, Wilson Gibbins and Samarth Chakrasali.

Andrew Tang and Ahmet Shapiro-Erciyas share the sixth place with 3,5/5 points each.

The Reserve section featured 48 players. After five rounds of play, Vincent Wisniewski finished sole winner with 4,5/5 points. On the shared second place with 4,0/5 each are Lonny Dale Arvidson, Zachary Best, Roman Glusker and Nathan Ritter.

The Bantam section had 16 players. Peyton Smith took a clear first place with 4,5/5 points.

The Sunday Side event was played over four rounds of Swiss system. Daniel Dillon won the top prize with perfect 4,0/4 score.
