1.g4+ Ke5 2.Re4+ Ke4 3.Nf6+ Kd4 4.c3+ and white wins the queen.
very neat puzzle, I’ll go for g4, Re4 and Nf6, e3 if necessary
Black cannot escape the fork
1.g4+ Ke5 2.Re4+ Ke4 3.Nf6+ Kd4 4.c3+ and white wins the queen.
Not 4.c3? Kxc3
5.Nd5+ Kd4!
6.Nxb6 c3 =
But 4.e3! and white wins.
Pharaoh
Pharoah is correct, c3 trades the win for the draw- the knight can’t get back to stop the bishop’s pawn in time.
And for those wondering, the rook offer at e4 can’t be refused since White will eventually skewer the king and queen on the sixth rank.
Yancey
Nice puzzle. Indeed, 4.e3 is the right move
Is it still won if Black decides to give its Queen for the Knight?
1.g4+ Ke5 2. Re4+ Ke4 3. Nf6+ Qf6!
3… Qxf6+! won’t help since g-pawn queens soon. Take a look Wednesday morning tactic
