Congratulations to Gata!!! The 2007 World Cup Winner!
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Yep – FRITZY says as much too 🙂
23.e6 seemed impetuous: maybe there’s a quick draw here.
28…Qb7? Surely Nc5 has been ‘on’ for ages?!
31…Qxa5? game over – draw
MR KAMSKY MOVES ON…GAME WAS DRAW!!!! NOW TOPOLOV NEXT
Kamsky!!! I told you all not to underestimate him in match play. Shirov held up better than I expected but Gata has passed him by.
Drawn! Kamsky wins the World Cup
Congratulations to Gata! Final game a draw, and Kamsky wins the match!
Cheers,
Milty
The game is officially over and it’s a draw. Kamsky is doing just what he should….keep drawing and win the tournament.
Why take chances when you’re ahead?
Kamsky moves on just like I said he would Topolov is next in 2008, Kamsky won $120,000 and gained 20 ELO point
Kamsky draws to win the match!!! Really great play by Kamsky all tournament. His play was quite good and opening prep seems to have caught up to the rest of his skill. I’m impressed with how well he contained his opponents and restricted their ability to launch their own plans.
Susan – as a board member, what kind of help will Kamsky receive from the USCF in preparation for his match with Topalov?
Game over.
Great draw for Kamsky.
Kamsky is official World Cup Winner. Kamsky is number one.
Kamsky is the Champion.
Go Gata Go.
America is super proud of Gata Kamsky.
Susan tell him we all think he is great.
The game ended in a draw!!!
Go GATA.
kamsky has won…
TARTAR – A fearsome or formidable person – That is Gata Kamsky both literally and figuratively! Hope he remains so against Topa(i)lov.
Congratulation to Kamsky!
A great comeback story. Though I was rooting for Topalov vs Shirov which would have featured two attacking players reminiscent of Kasparov vs Short.
But Topalov vs Kamsky will be entertaining as well.
Susan, you and Paul, as Chairman and Vice-President of Marketing and Communications, respectively, should consider circulating News Releases to the media regarding Gata’s accomplishment.
Let’s stop harping about what is “bad” about the USCF and start doing what we can to improve things.
A thousand congratulations to Gata! What a thrilling victory for him. I can’t wait to see his match with Topalov.
Gata wins the faux candidates and wins the right to lose to Topalov in the real Candidates.
“Gata wins the faux candidates and wins the right to lose to Topalov in the real Candidates”.
How did Topalov qualify for the “real” candidates?
I agree, Susan you should make sure that the American media gives this some attention! This is a very important event in US Chess history!
Topalov qualified by losing to Kramnik
Kramnik qualified by cheating Topalov. He could try likewise against Anand… Indians are waiting for him. Go Vishy!
