THEY are the Roy Slaven and HG Nelson of the chess world and are aiming to win a new generation of fans to their sport after launching Australia’s first Chess podcast: Crazy Chess Talk.
Through their wacky antics and insightful interviews, Waitara duo Pete Yang, 19, and Kevin Tan, 18, are hoping to boost excitement levels in a sport that is played by more than 500 million people.
On Saturday, the duo will launch their first two-day tournament, the Hornsby Weekender 2012, at Asquith Leagues Club.
“We love chess and as the years went by we realised wanted to promote chess and decided to make a tournament like this,” Mr Tan said.
