Wunsiedel Schachfestival will take place 17-20 May, 2012, in Germany. The Russian GM Sergey Volkov (2623) and the English GM David Howell (2614) are top seeded players a month before the start of the event.

Other top players include GM Miezis, GM Alexandre Danin, GM Vitaly Teterev, GM Vladimir Petkov, GM Viatly Kunin, GM Igor Rausis, IM Michael Richter, IM Petr Neuman, IM Petar Arnaudov, GM Jens-Uwe Maiwald.

The tournament is a Swiss System with 7 rounds, time control is 40 moves in 2 hours + 30 minutes for the rest of the game.
