Karjakin will win 5-3
Karjakin will stomp n-n-Nigel.
Nigel Short is the biggest jerk in the world. I hope Karjakin beats the brown stuff out of him.
The British Grandmaster Nigel Short who has many victories in his record
Boy, talk about damning with faint praise. How many GM’s don’t have many victories in their record?
“Boy, talk about damning with faint praise. How many GM’s don’t have many victories in their record?”
Non-chess writers usually get chess terminology wrong. He probably means “tournament victories”.
But Short is still a jerk.
Go Nigel!
Short is an extremely creative and aggressive player. His games are interesting, win or lose. At one time, he was the clear #2 in the world–no one but Kasparov could stop him.
Fischer too was a “jerk” by any human standard. A tad psychotic too, perhaps. Still, I love his games and deeply respect him as a luminal figure in human history, let alone chess.
Nigel has been slumpig badly lately. Perhaps age is catching up to him. But he will bring his creativity, fighting spirit, and natural talent to the contest.

Why is Nigel Short a jerk?
Nigel is NOT a jerk. I like Nigel. He is cool and witty or funny. I like his dry sense of humor. Nigel might have won against Kasparov but the first game with a clear winning position he lost on time. It was tragic. I think he wanted to hit the clock on the 40th move. the clock was the non digital clock and did not show seconds. I think after this they have always use more accurate clocks showing the seconds.
After the tragic loss he could not pull himself back together.
