Two guys from Massachusetts in the top 5. Boston Area has a great chess community. I hope and expect that Perelshteyn got a GM norm out of this performance.

Nakamura came in 56 place with 4 1/2 out of 8. He withdrew and did not play the last round. I sure hope he is feeling OK.
Foxwoods has become a nice tournament that attracts the big boys. it is close to both Boston and New York. well close enough to make it a nice drive and pull in the big players from 2 great chess areas.
2 GM Ilya Smirin 2797 ?
He is 2797 ?????
2797 is his USCF rating not his FIDE rating. Yes Perelshteyn did make his GM norm.
