TV show features city’s chess club

“All Things Connecticut,” which airs on CPTV Thursday night at 8 p.m., has two features on New Britain.The “Inside Out” segment features the New Britain Chess Club, which has been meeting for more than 50 years. The chess club is one of the largest and strongest in the Northeast. Host Eric Clemons learns more about the game and what keeps the club’s devotees coming back for more “thoughtful play.”

I know this first hand. I’m a member there, as well as a member of the Polgar Chess Center in Queens. This is a VERY strong club and the likes of GM Ibragimov and GM Garcia have played there.
