Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
I thought Nakamura broke 2700?
He was above 2700 on the Live List for a while and then dropped below.
It’s not like these things are meaningful to the least significant figure. You can’t say someone with a rating of 2697 is weaker than one of 2700 because the error bars swamp the difference.
This is the lousiest women ratign list I ever saw. Can something be done? Even if not fairly?
‘You can’t say someone with a rating of 2697 is weaker than one of 2700 because the error bars swamp the difference.’
Oh yes you can!!! You dunno chess.

Can we see the Dead List, please?
I can’t believe Yasser is still in the top 5… has he played any games recently?
Yes, Yasser gained 4 points 🙂
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
GM Seirawan probably should be removed from the list. I belive he does not even play any more.
Seirawan played in the Dutch league (he now lives in Holland) and gained 4 points as Susan pointed out.
Nakamura probably dropped below 2700 when he went back playing the US Swiss Lottery after a string of success playing in Europe. He lost to Friedel and drew Laylo.
Actually, Nakamura drew Friedel and Laylo. He lost to Pruess. This loss costs him the 2700.

“Can we see the Dead List, please?”
I’m sorry, but it’s dead, Jim.
I’m somewhat surprised that there has been very little talk about the Topalov – Kamsky match. Dennis Monokroussos has a blog entry previewing the upcoming battle but it hasn’t had the same interest as Anand – Kramnik (for good reason, I suppose). If Kamsky wins, it would be a shocker! I’m assuming you’ll assemble your preview at the appropriate time, Susan?
According to the FIDE ratings Susan Polgar is rated 2577 and should be listed as the number one female player in the USA. I don’t know why this is not true unless she is listed under Hungary?
Zatonskih is coming?
Oh come on!
No Armageddon Chess at TTU please!
Or else we will have to issue padded sports equipment to the spectators due to flying chess pieces!
