Kazakh women’s chess team in Top-10 of Chess Olympiad

Kazakhstani women’s chess team is ranked 6th in the overall rating of the Chess Olympiad in Norwegian Tromso, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.

In the final round, the Kazakh chess players won the Czech team with the score of 3:1. Zhansaya Abdumalik won Olga Sikorova, Gulmira Daulet defeated her opponent Tereza Olsarova and Dinara Saduakasova beat Karolina Olsarova. Guliskhan Nakhbayeva lost to Kristyna Havlikova.

All in all, the Kazakh team won 8 rounds straight. One round ended with a tie and the team lost 2 rounds. Having earned 17 points the Kazakhstani women chess team ranked 6th, which became a real breakthrough.

Russian female chess players won the gold of the Olimpiad. China won the second place and Ukraine landed on the third place of the competition. The Chess Olympiad gathered over 130 teams in Tromso.

Meanwhile, the Kazakhstani man’s team landed on the 42nd place with 13 points. The final game ended in a draw against Venezuelan team. The Chinese team won the first place at the Olimpiad followed by Hungary on the second place and India on the third place.
