Today is May 22, 2008. It is 7 days past the latest extension by FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov for bids in the Topalov – Kamsky match. There is still no word from either side other than skepticism by Topalov’s manager IM S. Danailov.

The last news is the “official” bid from Lvov (or Lviv) is for $750,000 + extras ($935,000 total). The money was supposed to have been transferred but no one including the organizer or FIDE can confirm it. No one even knows which bank the money was supposed to come from.
