GM Hans Tikkanen convincing in Odense
Fynsmesterskabet 2011 open tournament, 1st to 5th June in Odense, Denmark

The Fynsmesterskabet 2011 open tournament was held from 1st to 5th June in Odense, Denmark. The playing schedule was very demanding, with 9 Swiss rounds squeezed within five playing days.

Swedish Grandmaster Hans Tikkanen convincingly took the first place with 7.5 points, full point ahead of the opposition. He appears to be in excellent shape before the 19th Sigeman Chess Tournament which is starting Thursday.

Top-seeded GM Vadim Milov recovered after the bumpy start and with two consecutive victories in the finish reached the shared second place with 6.5 points. GM Henrik Danielsen, tireless author of Chessdom Videos, also concluded the tournament in style to share the position with Milov.
