1.RxN QxR (1…KxR 2.Db8+) 2.Qd5+ Qf7 3.Te8 mate
Greetings from France
Rxf8+
1.Rxf8 Qxf8(If 1…Kxf8 2.Qb8+ Qe8 3.Qxe8#)2.Qd5+(If Qf7 3.Re8 #) and after 2…Kh8 black loses a rook
1. Rxf8+, Qxf8
2. Qd5+, Kh8 (2. .., Qf7 3. Re8#)
3. Qxc4, Rxd4 (the rook at d2 is very vulnerable and would be lost too as the Queen at f8 cannot move due to the Re8 threat)
1. Rxf8+, Kxf8
2. Qb8+, Qe8
3. Qxe8#
Quick and simple tactic involving a diversion and a fork.
1. Rxf8+ Qxf8 (1… Kxf8? 2. Qb8+! leads to mate)
2. Qd5+ Kh8 (2… Qf7? 3. Re8#)
3. Qxc4
and white emerges a minor piece up.
There’s usually a mate in these, but I’m not seeing it. Anyway, there’s a simple win of a piece:
1. Rf8:+ Qf8: (box — taking with the K gets mated)
2. Qd5+ Kh8 (also box — if Qf7, then Re8 mate)
3. Qc4: and it’s an easy win.
White should win a piece with:
1. Rxf8+ Qxf8 (Kxf8? Qb8+ Qe8 Qxe8#)
2. Qd5+ Kh8 (Qf7? Re8#)
3. Qxc4
White up with piece for pawn, black queen stuck on 8th rank, shall probably play h6, giving white an extra tempo.
1Rxn wins in both variation
Rxf8+,
