Brian Ribnick is a math teacher at Metcalfe Junior High School. He’s also a chess instructor.

For 20 years, he’s been showing students how to move pieces around the board. He says it’s not just about chess, it’s about getting kids excited about thinking and problem solving.

That’s why he’s built a life size chess board. It’s 16 by 16 feet.He says he made the big board to encourage students to think big.
