Its about time. Well done Mr Anand!
Now there’s a world champ who won’t dodge matches. Its a great day.
I can’t believe how well Gelfand did……good for him. The chess world treats him and Chucky like they were yesterdays news. By the way…why is Ivanchuck not there??
Just asking..
Well done Anand!
Not only do we have a World Champion who won’t dodge matches, we also have one who neither has a fanatical manager nor overlooks a mate in one, whose last name neither starts with a “K” nor ends with an “OV”, who is respectably married and takes his wife everywhere with him, who will not ‘fall ill’ weeks before tournaments, who plays truly entertaining chess, has a nice personality, and who would deservedly pick up where Kasparov left off.
Congratulations to the world’s most humble and unassuming No. 1 chess player ever, and the first REAL world champion since Garry Kasparov.
Congratulations to Vishy Anand for becoming World Chess Champion 2007.
Congratulations to Vishy Anand for becoming World Chess Champion 2007.
Pre-arranged draw in the last round with Peter helped, though.
‘Congratulations to the world’s most humble and unassuming No. 1 chess player ever, and the first REAL world champion since Garry Kasparov.’
I am going to cry reading this.
My heartiest congrats to V.Anand. He proved that chess has a future. His games were briliant, his preparation fantastic. A true unbeatable champion, one who will remain champion the next 10 years. Thanks for all the info from Mexico!
ANAND WAS BULLIT Pr00f in this event..that was a pretty amazing performance…he’s not garry but he’s sure no Kramnik.
He played some seriously good chess.

“one who will remain champion the next 10 years. “
I really love watching the anthusiastic and fanatism people have on Anand.
But at the same time I almost laugh at the statement that he will hold this championship for 10 years.
He is 38 now. Probably can only do it one or two more years.
