1. Carlsen
2. Gurevich
3. Rublevsky
4. Gelfand
5. Kamsky
6. Malakhov
7. Polgar
8. Shirov
I think a few of these are just hopes rather than educated guesses, anyway, itll be fun to have on record when we do finally get around to the matches.
Kramnik won’t play. He’s a coward…
More intelligent banter from Kramnik haters.
How were the qualifiers decided?
Curious as to why Mr. Cheatalov isn’t on this list. Did he decline? Shouldn’t he get an automatic seat, ahead of Anand, Svidler and Morozevich?
Seeding half the spots into Mexico 2007 (4 of 8 spots) is too many seedings.
Too uncompetitive, too repetitive, a little dull.
Technically, the seeds Svidler + Anand + Morozevich need not have even looked at a chess board since San Luis 2005.
Aronian will be world champ someday.

The Mexico _FIDE_ World Championship. Kramnik won’t play and rightly so. The chess public is firmly behind him in refusing to play.
1. Aronian
2. Leko
3. Ponomariov
4. Gelfand
5. Kamsky
6. Grischuk
7. Polgar
8. Shirov
A few obvious comments for those that do not follow at all:
1) This is the candidates matches and not the Mexico tournament. The 4 first will qualify with Anand, Svidler, Morozevich and Kramnik to the final in Mexico.
2) Kramnik has NOT declined. We will only know that when the actual final (and not candidate matches) are held.
3) Topalov did not reject any offer. He could NOT have participated in the candidates martches. When he agreed to play Kramnik, the agreement was that in the new cycle (Mexico), the winner takes the position of the champion (Topalov) and the loser the position of Kramnik PRIOR the match. Kramnik could have qualified in the candidates matches (from rating, as eg Shirov did) but he did not decleared that he would play in Mexico (prior his match at Elista) , so he was disqualified and (I think) Shirov took his place. That meant that had he lost in Elista he would not be elidgible for the candidates matches. Since he won, Topalov took his position and got disqualified.
1.Aronian (Magnus is still too young)
2.Leko (ehhh…)
3.Ponomariov (I think he’s clearly better)
4.Gelfand (difficult to guess)
5.Kamsky (more experienced)
6.Grischuk (no doubt)
7.Polgar (she’s back)
8.Shirov (I really, really, really hope so)

Everything is so stupidily amateurish in the selection for Mexico 2007. They should simply follow the other sports rules for a final : the champion receives the right for a direct participation and for the others selection round(or rounds) based on the players place in the FIDE ELO tables, and may be 1-2 wild cards for emmerging/honored talants. Otherwise why are these tables for, if not to be used? Now it is controversial, the ELO No 1 is not to participate against every possible sport logic. Stupid.
Kamsky, Polgar, Grischuk, Aronian
Has it been determined what are possible 2nd round matchups? Is this in bracker format?

Why i have told so:
Explanation
Match 1 Carlsen is favourite in my opinion and has more energies respect Aronian,he wants to became WCC.There are risks for him but at the end he will pass.
Match 2:Leko without doubt
Matcb 3:I See stronger Ponomariov in my opinion
Match 4:Kasimdzhanov is not the best player in the world but is extremely solid and hard.I See him favourite in this match:
Match 5:This is very difficult.I Like Kamsky but Bacrot could not be understimate and i see the French player objectivly favourite in this match.I Prefer Kamsky but the mind tell Bacrot. However every thing could happen.
6 Grishuk will pass, with some difficulties
7 Judith listen:You and your sisters are my favourite chessplayer.Since when i was very little boy.
I Consider you and your sisters as “my sisters”
Could you realize my dream to see you first in the world.?Could you write an extraordinary page of History?,Could you realize something that goes with chess much mutch over chess?.Could you make happy milions of peaple that as me want to see you first?.I Ask you:Try Judith!.
And if you will fault….It dosn’t matter,i will love you and your sisters FOR EVER!,every thing will happen.
Your importance goes much much over chess
And my love will be NEVER BROOKEN.Be sure!.Every thing could tell others you and your sisters will be allways the best for me.But please try!.
For the match:Judith YOU WILL WIN If you belve in yourself and in your capacities.Remember:You could reach everything!,if you organize yourself in the best way.YOU WILL BE WORLD CHAMPION.I Wish this with all my hearth.
8 I Prefer Shirov, but Adams is hard to beat. With heart i tell Shirov but the mind tell Adams
SUSAN,SOFI JUDIT VI AMO TUTTE!

Wlll, Cheat-Nik is there, and it is ridiculous that the cheat-accuser-alov is not.
This is stupidity. I hope Kramnik declines this tournament and Topalov is righlty given the rights to become the next WC.
That would be yet another ironical twist to the World Chees Championship saga, as if there wasn’t enoough already!

but Kramnik will not plat at the Tournament!
Welldone to Kramnik. He won the place of Topalov in the tournament only by a clause in a contract. Maybe he will win the next games in the law court and a new discipline – contract chess – will be established. Why not? There is contract bridge already.
In ten years, this annoying childish instulting will not be remembered. What shall be remembered?
That Kramnik defeated Topalov to become the unified world chess champion.
Topalov is simply not playing at a 2800+ level.
He might again…someday.
But, it seems that people are adapting to his particular style. His obvious push to win in all cases when one should accept a draw.

I wouldn’t draw sweeping conclusions just yet. About a year ago, everyone thought that Kramnik was finished. Before Essent, Judit Polgar’s last classical event was in San Luis, where she played horribly. Over a short period of time, any player’s results might be dramatically worse than their usual level of play.
The fact is, at Elista, in classical games played at the board, Kramnik was +1 over Topalov, and in rapid games Kramnik was also +1. That’s not a huge difference. Clearly Kramnik was better, but not a lot better.
Let me try this.
1. Carlsen (this kid has been hot, Aronian has not)
2. Leko (easily)
3. Pnonmariov (it won’t be a walk; I’ll root for Rublevsky and his coffeehouse style)
4. Gelfand (in less of a walk than it sounds)
5. Kamsky (easily)
6. Grischuk (easily)
7. Ms. Polgar (easily)
8. Adams (unless Shirov shows his old fire)
