The Race Has Started!

The Games Festival launched today with a record participation of more than 1000 players in all game disciplines, with 500 of them belonging to massive chess events – World School Chess Championship, World Chess Amateur Championship and Thessaloniki Open.
Already one hour before the round start, groups of young chess players and their parents gathered in front of the hotel and inside the playing halls.
At the opening ceremony the Chief Organizer Theodoros Tsorbatzoglou welcomed the guests and introduced them with the competitions. Mr. Tsorbatzoglou next invited Alexander Kostyev, President of the International School Chess Union, to officially open the Festival.
