Topalov’s still better than Carlsen- he even beat him yesterday. Topalov is playing the best this tournament. He will probably be number 1 in October list- he just beat Anand. It is Topalov that brought down Anand to give Carlsen a temporary chance for virtual number 1- this is Topalov’s time still. Give him credit.
Magnus is a really nice person. Topalov is not.

Um, excuse me, but if we’re talking class here, shouldn’t that be the other way around??
And even if we set that aside, so what if Topalov beat Carlsen? So Carlsen is sick and has an excellent overall score against Topalov despite this loss. OK, Topa also beat Anand, that’s a serious achievement, but keep in mind that Anand is playing with one hand tied behind his back becuause he’s unable to give away his best openings.

These players are, at the moment, quite equal in strength.
Learning from the videos and interviews with Susan in Bilbabo, Topalov has impressed me as beeing a frank and polite gentleman. He even felt sorry for Magnus immediately after the win. Very emphatic.

He’s number one on the unofficial list. That’s a fact. Is that so hard to understand?
Being number one on the list (or FIDE’s list for that matter) doesn’t necessarily make you the world’s strongest player, especially when the differences between the 5 first players are so small. But that doesn’t change the fact that your listed first on the unofficial list. Besides, it does have a symbolic meaning. Your commment only reflects your lack of understanding of how the rating system actually works.

And how do you know that Topalov will continue to win his next games? (answer: You don’t). Would you say that Topalov outperformed Magnus if Topalov draws and loses his next games? I think it’s too early to say who’s outperforming who here.
He did win against Magnus and Anand, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he’ll win the tournament. He still faces Anand with black and there’s no guarantee that Topalov will win against Magnus with white (Magnus has actually beaten Topa with black before, and has a plus score overall against Topa).
The truth is that any of these strong players could easily beat each other on a good day. Nobody is unbeatable in this field, including Topalov, so please don’t give us any more of that c*ap.

Topa is in great shape, no doubt about that!
The live rating is as valid as the FIDE rating. The differense is that FIDE take “the temparature” 4 times a year, whereas the live rating does so after every match.
But the rating doesn’t tell anything about the outcome of a match f.i. between Topa and Anand, but it says who have been the strongest player for the last periode.
By the way, I expect Topa to struggle against Carlsen in the next match and consider Carlen the favourite. He still has a psycological advantage over Topalov
