SU Treasury votes to bring Garry Kasparov to campus
February 28, 2012 Michael Tabb
Student Union Treasury voted to allocate $49,800 to bring Garry Kasparov to campus at its weekly meeting on Tuesday.
Pending final contracts being signed, Kasparov will be coming to campus in April.
The vote in favor of funding the chess grandmaster, political activist and writer was 15-1-1, with Treasury members debating whether the event, sponsored by the Chess Club and supported by various campus organizations including the Gephardt Institute and Delta Sigma Pi, was worth draining most of the group’s remaining budget for the year. The allocation leaves about $13,000 in Treasury’s appeals account.

I’m sure Kasparov will appreciate the fact that the number was not even rounded up before being posted.
Should not Kasparov Give Student Discount!!! But you wont!!! Kasparov is an arrogant thug. He may be a great chess player but has an attitude and personally I wont invite to my home/state/country even if he wants to come free.
