Is this to choose the candidate that will challenge Kramnik? I hope they don’t continue with the tournament format as it will generate very little interest.
With FIDE we get Capablanca, Alekhine, Botvinik, Tal, Fischer, Karpov, Kasparov and now…. Kasimdzhanov.
If they are going to do that why not rotate the World Champion title between the top 50 GMs and save themselves the trouble???
I hope Kramnik skips it and continues in the same tradition as the previous World Champions.
Kasi as millions of his fans like to call him, is the foremost attacker/defender/holder of this age. His psycological skills that he uses to create difficult positions for his opponent and his below average IQ make him a formidable opponent.
“Is this to choose the candidate that will challenge Kramnik?”
No, as of this moment, whoever wins this will be the new FIDE WCC.
This is what I don’t like about Kirsan. These tournaments produce dubious WCHs.
I think Kramnik will look at his options (legal and otherwise). If he has to play this tourney in order to keep his title, I believe he will play it.
What month was this photo taken?
“I hope Kramnik skips it”: thats the only hope Krasmnik has of ever reaching the next World Championship title match 😉
How long have we to endure the faces of Makropolous and Campomanes, whom many regard a criminals
put them out of chess!
