He’s one of a kind.
This is why Fischer is a legend – scoring 6-0 wins against very strong GMs, and eventually shaming the vaunted Soviet chess machine. All these with just his own genius, without the benefit of a strong coach. He’s truly one of a kind. Any comparison of Carlsen with Fischer is still way off – Carlsen has to accomplish much more.
This video tells some truths, but presented in a “propaganda-like” fashion. In particular Fischer was very interested in russian publications on chess, and took a lot of materials from their sources. Moreover Spassky was just a chess player, not a “product” of communism machine. Bobby was a little bit obsessed by the russian and communistic plots against him, but sometimes he couldn’t realize that the most loyal chess friends were russian.
Bobby was Fischer than Boris; who’s the Fischest in the world?
