Many people asked how I am able to blog frequently. Here are the answers:
1. I love chess and I am committed to make a positive difference.
2. Technology: The above computer is what I have on the road. I can blog from anywhere at anytime in the United States. I just posted a bunch of items while sitting at Palm Beach International Airport waiting to board.
While some people (thankfully there are few) like to harp on all the negative stuff and play petty and destructive chess political games, I like to do everything I can to help chess in a positive way. If I can bring you this much news and information without a staff or money, why can’t the USCF or other federations do the same?
That is why I decided to run for the USCF Executive Board and that is why I asked the most qualified people to run with me. We will bring immediate positive results instead of hiding behind the wall of secrecy, inefficiency and bureaucracy.
If the USCF members want the same old things than they should vote for the candidates who like the status quo. I like to make things better.
The secret is my love for this game and diligence.
I agree with your views.
You are the best thing that has happened to US Chess in a long time. Your site http://www.susanpolgar.com adds great value to the game. Whenever I visit your website it brightens my day.
Regarding your prospective particapation on the USCF Excecutive Board, I think it is a big challenge and hopefully not a thankless challenge. Based on what I have seen in the past the biggest problems are 1) The USCF is not good at creating a positive image. 2) The USCF is not good at managing its money. 3) The USCF for whatever reason has too frequently had Executive Board members who have serious personal problems and/or could not easily find respectful gainful employment in the outside world.
It would be nice to see more money flowing into the US Chess Federation so that more events could be supported. But I think at the very least it should be possible to take even a modest budget and manage the US Chess Federation as a business that is in the business of staying in business and is able to achieve respect both inside and outside of chess.
I think the Susan Polgar Chess Blog is the sort of advertisement for US Chess that can elevate the stature of chess activity in the United States without spending lots of money. Moreover I think that Susan Polgar and the Polgar sisters are well respected both inside and outside the chess community. That means that there could be hope for more funds from sponsors. But even if there is not more money from sponsors it should be possible to make the chess experience a better one for everyone.
That’s a cool computer! I was disturbed by some previous posts in which the poster was tracking your whereabouts during the day. That’s creepy.
i hadnt thought about what harry said, and yes it must be creeppy hope u ok susan, my question was more stupid, if u didnt mind for example whilst u sat at the airport working in the laptop, what other people thought of ?

Susan’s blog is quickly replacing Chessbase as my favorite site. I check on it once or twice a day.

p.s. you can also track, ok, stalk me at http://www.ssik.ym.ssa. and, btw get a life, clean up your stinking room, because you stink bad too.
I agree that the blog should be positive and avoid negative “ad hominem” attacks. There is a way to say bad things without making them sound offensive and bad things need to be addressed as well as all of the good things, but in a professional manner. It think it’s a question of phrasing or word choice. For example instead of “psychotic” say “difficult” father. Don’t label your political opponent a “lier” and a “felon”; say “For X the truth seems to be an elusive concept”. A grandmaster in chess need not be a patzer in prose.
I have deleted the post from the stalker. That is the exact reason why I never post precisely where I am, where I am going or when I get there, only the general information.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar

To the anonymous poster / stalker who is trying to spam this blog with your creepy stufF: You can blog as many times as you wish. It only takes me 1 second to click a button to delete your post.
Because of people like you, I would never post private info so do not even bother guessing my whereabouts. Why don’t you go do something better with your time.

“If I can bring you this much news and information without a staff or money why can’t the USCF or other federations do the same?” – Susan Polgar That is the most important question and the tip of the iceberg as to whats wrong with the USCF so far. Absolutely right Susan! and Im glad you are running to change things. Best of luck. I hope the USCF changes under you to an effective model that other federations across the world can copy! We need this change now!
Too bad about the computer. You should have got a Mac Book PRO!!
I suppose in a way, that’s the price of fame. You get unwanted stalker.
